For my mask, I chose to extenuate the mask’s symbolism of nobility by adorning the long forehead with gold, a historically exploited resource of Ghana. The figure’s skin is adorned with a symbol of resilience, regrowth, and faith in God as manifest by the figure reclaiming this symbol and Ghana’s exploited heritage. The figure wears red war paint, representing the struggle though which reclamation and regrowth are won.
